Croissant Bread Pudding

Croissant Bread Pudding

Ingredients:

  • 6 large croissants, preferably stale
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup raisins or chocolate chips (optional)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Cut the croissants into bite-sized pieces and arrange them in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the croissant pieces in the baking dish, making sure to coat them evenly. Press down gently on the croissants to help them soak up the custard.
  5. If using, sprinkle raisins or chocolate chips evenly over the top of the bread pudding.
  6. Let the bread pudding sit for about 15-20 minutes to allow the croissants to absorb the custard mixture.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
  8. Remove the bread pudding from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  9. If desired, dust the top of the bread pudding with powdered sugar before serving. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, if desired.
