Ingredients:
- 1 9-inch pie crust, baked and cooled
- 3 large bananas, sliced
- 1 3/4 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 egg yolks, beaten
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions:
In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, flour, and salt. Gradually stir in milk until smooth.
Cook and stir over medium-high heat until thickened and bubbly. Reduce heat; cook and stir 2 minutes longer. Remove from heat.
Stir a small amount of hot filling into egg yolks; return all to pan, stirring constantly. Bring to a gentle boil; cook and stir 2 minutes longer. Remove from heat.
Gently stir in butter and vanilla extract until butter is melted. Cool mixture to room temperature without stirring.
Arrange sliced bananas in bottom of cooled baked pastry shell. Pour cooled filling over bananas. Chill.
In a small mixing bowl, beat whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Spread whipped cream over filling.
